The Fishbowl is Full

Why would anyone approve that? That is the real question that should be asked but never is. Why would you put too many people in one geographical location in a very short period of time, without funding the basic needs that not only the natives would need but the newcomers as well. In the security industry, the standard for staffing is generally one security officer for every fifty patrons. Whether this staffing is for an event, or for a property that accommodates hundreds of people. All counties and cities in America fund their police and fire departments through local city and county taxes. They also get grant money from the state and federal governments, but usually for specific programs or initiatives like body-worn cameras. If we take the city of Los Angeles for example, the population is approximately three million, nine hundred thousand people. The Los Angeles Police Department has approximately eight thousand, three hundred sworn officers. That equates to approximately four hundred and forty-four residents for every one police officer. If you double that, we are looking at eight hundred and eighty-eight residents for every two police officers. The private security industry does a better job at providing a proper, safe, and efficient staff level that the LAPD. We of course are not counting how many of the approximate ten million immigrants that came to the country seeking asylum, and we have no idea how many came to and settled in Los Angeles. We do know that most newly arrived immigrants tend to go to the big cities where better job opportunities are available, but small towns also have new immigrant populations, and the situation is the same with regards to staffing levels of city services. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that if you keep importing more and more people without matching those numbers with police officers, fire fighters, schoolteachers, doctors, and jobs, not to mention all of the other basic needs that are needed to keep a community running, that something is going to give. This is what causes the frustration of the native population, with regards to immigration as a whole. It is not the people coming, it is the people in power allowing for mass migration without figuring in all of the needs of both the natives and the immigrants, so that we don’t begin to attack each other, while at the same time, watch everyone’s quality of life slip right down the drain. The federal government has failed the states, the cities, and the counties, and should offer permanent grant money, not only for specific programs and initiatives, but for the safety and well-being of all of the people in our country, no matter what your political affiliation is. The federal government let them in, and the federal government should use our tax money to help fund these vital government entities, and to keep America from slipping into a less than country, than what we deserve. The fishbowl is full and we need a larger tank, now.
